The story of La Mortazza is, at its heart, a story of family, love, and tradition.

Our Story

Long before it became a café and deli, this little corner of North Perth was simply home to Tony and Filomena. In that cozy house out the front, food was never just food—it was how they showed love, welcomed friends, and brought people together. Coffee was shared at all hours, laughter filled the rooms, and countless memories were made around the table. It was even the place where they celebrated their wedding reception, surrounded by the people who mattered most.

Food was always central to their lives. Recipes were passed down, flavours perfected, and meals prepared with care and pride. Friends and family were regular guests, drawn in not just by the cooking, but by the warmth that filled the home. Over time, that simple house became known as a place where good food and good company naturally belonged together.

Today, La Mortazza is proudly carried forward by their grandchildren, Tony and Raffaella. With the same passion and respect for tradition, they continue what their grandparents began—serving honest, delicious food made with heart. Every coffee poured, every sandwich prepared, and every customer welcomed is part of that ongoing family story.

More than just a café and deli, La Mortazza remains what it has always been: a place to gather, to slow down, and to share in something made with love. It is a tribute to where it all began, and a promise to keep that spirit alive for generations to come.
